Why PCS
Built for ownership, not just for hire
When your organisation needs serious space, the market offers two poor fits: hire companies renting short-term stopgaps, and construction projects measured in years.
PCS occupies the ground between them. We deliver engineered structures designed for long-term ownership and extended use — expandable, relocatable assets that go up in weeks, engineered to Australian Standards and council approved for their intended use. One partner, accountable from concept to handover and beyond.
We recommend European-made and engineered structure systems first: comparable in cost, with build quality proven over decades of service. Where a project calls for something different, PCS will source, design and manufacture any semi-permanent structure to the client's requirement.
Above all, we are straightforward to deal with: one contact, a clear scope, a fixed program, and a structure standing in weeks — without the stress of a construction project.

Questions, answered
What is a semi-permanent structure?
A semi-permanent structure is an engineered building — typically an aluminium-framed, clear-span structure with a tensioned membrane or hard-wall facade — designed to stay in place for months to many years. It combines the speed and flexibility of temporary infrastructure with the durability, weather performance and finish of a permanent building. Full guide here.
How long do PCS structures last?
PCS structures are engineered for long-term use. The same building can serve as a multi-year semi-permanent facility or a permanent installation. Frames are aluminium and steel; membranes and facades are specified for the local climate and the design life your project requires.
How quickly can a structure be installed?
Because components are manufactured off site and assembled on prepared ground, most PCS projects are installed in weeks rather than the months a conventional build takes — and smaller structures from our assessed used range can deploy in as little as 48 hours from approval and payment. New custom-engineered systems take longer to arrive, then build quickly on site. Real timelines here.
Are PCS structures engineered and council approved?
Yes. Every PCS structure is engineered to Australian Standards, including AS 1170 wind and structural loading. We provide the engineering and certification documentation that supports council approval; where a development application is required, you lodge it and we assist with responses and compliance throughout. How approvals work.
Can a structure be expanded or relocated later?
Yes. Modular bays let you extend length or width as demand grows, and structures can be dismantled and re-erected on a new site. That adaptability is a core reason organisations choose semi-permanent over fixed construction.
Should I buy or hire a temporary structure?
Hire suits short, one-off needs. For anything beyond roughly 12–24 months, ownership usually costs significantly less over the life of the structure and leaves you with a relocatable asset with residual value. Hire vs buy, compared.
Where are PCS structures manufactured?
We recommend European-made and engineered structure systems first: comparable in cost to alternatives, with build quality and service life proven over decades. Beyond the recommended range, PCS will source, design and manufacture any semi-permanent structure a client requires.
